Welcome to the website for the Portsmouth Circle of the Catenian Association - please look around to find out more about the Association.
Our next major event is our Centenary Mass, on Saturday 29th June, at 12.00 at Portsmouth Cathedal. We ask that all brothers in the Circle try their hardest to get to this Mass, and if you know of widows that might need help in getting to the Mass, please get in touch with them. For details click on the 'Centenary 2013' button on the left here.
The next Circle meeting is on Monday 24th June 2013. This is a stag night and dress code is lounge suits.
The Pub Lunch at The Royal Oak at Langstone was very successful, so we will continue to use the pub until further notice. If you cannot park in Langstone, you can use the car park at The Ship and walk along to the Royal Oak. The next pub lunch is on Wednesday 10th July.
The Theatre Trip on Tuesday 30th July is now fully booked, but contact Vince Kelly if you want to be on 'standby'.
Please note that subscriptions are now due of £112.00.
The Catenian Association is a group of praticising Catholic laymen. We meet every fourth Monday of the month at the Brookfield Hotel, Emsworth for a Circle meeting and for dinner.
We have 31 brothers in the Portsmouth circle, which covers an area from Fareham in the West, to Petersfield in the North, to Emsworth and Hayling Island in the East. Portsmouth Circle is part of Province 11 in the Association click here for the Province website.
Brothers also travel to meetings at other circles in the South, and this is an opportunity to meet with a wider group of Catenian brothers.
On a regular basis we also hold ‘ladies nights’ when wives are invited to attend the dinner. We have special events at Christmas and to celebrate Trafalgar Night in October.
In addition to this, we have regular pub lunches at local hostelries. We also get together for other social events such as trips out and going to the theatre.
We also share in Masses for a variety of purposes, and other religious events.
